Jøtul have greatly invested in filtration systems at out
manufacturing facilities in Norway. As well as minimising air emissions
to a level, which is far below government recommendations, absolutely
no pollutants are released to the water table at all. The most environmentally
friendly power source in the world is hydro electric. Of course,
we use this power in the iron smelting process at the foundry.
Jøtul has been a world
leading manufacturer of cast iron stoves and fireplaces since
1853. A wide range
of products covers most needs both in function and aesthetics.
Jøtul will continue to be the preferred choice for
existing and future generations based on the merits of Norwegian
craftsmanship, high quality and active use of good design.
Cast Iron is regarded as the best material for producing wood-burning
stoves and built-ins, because of its ability to withstand
high temperatures and retain the heat. Closed appliances achieve
heat efficiencies of up to 80% whereas open fires allow greater
quantities of heat to disappear up the flue-way, often as
much as 90%.
Jøtuls
clean burn technology is designed to reduce the products of
combustion that escape up the flue way to a minimum. When
more oxygen is introduced through the secondary airways, it
mixes with the gases the fire gives off to ignite. This gives
more heat and a cleaner chimney, resulting in greater efficiency.
Jøtuls reintroduction of gas stoves in Europe has
been immensely successful. With a Jøtul gas stove you
get the combination of an efficient gas burner, realistic flame
picture and a beautifully designed high quality cast iron product.
